Dr. Martin Zahariev
Martin Zahariev is currently Deputy Chairperson of Management Board of the National Tourism Board Association.
In the last 25 years he has worked in the media field as a journalist, host, producer and publisher. He graduated in law from the Sofia University and specialised in Media Management in the USA and the UK. He has been a radio and TV host at Radio Vitosha, Darik Radio, Bulgarian National Radio, Bulgarian National TV, and bTV.
Chief Secretary to the State Commission of Telecommunications between 1999 and 2001. At different times, he created and published the magazines: Egoist, Playboy, Rhythm, Motor Show, Bulgaria Air, Hello!, BBC Knowledge, BBC Good Food, BBC Top Gear, Auto Bild.
He created and managed the radio stations Retro Radio and Radio Gong, and also the companies Digital Radio and Web Radio & TV, specialised in delivering digital content.
He produced the shows Fort Boyard, Alaminut and Before Lunch on bTV. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Eurotrust Technologies AD – a certification service provider, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egoist AD.
At different times, he has been a member of the Publishers Union and the Association of Advertising Agencies, and a member of the Managing Boards of the Association of the Bulgarian Radio and Television Broadcasters (ABRO) and the Association of Television Producers (АТP).
He was elected as MP to the 42nd General Assembly, where he served as a member of the Culture and Media Committee and the Committee on Transport, Information Technology and Communications, and as Chairman of the Group for Friendship with Switzerland. In the 43rd National Assembly, he was advisor to the same two committees.
