Yanita Toncheva earned a Master's degree in law at the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, with a professional qualification in the Legal and Court System of the European Union from the same university and from Université Nancy 2, France. Yanita Toncheva has experience as a legal advisor and manager of contracting projects for the World Bank – Sofia Branch, the International Monetary Fund, UNICEF Bulgaria, etc. Her legal professional experience includes provision of analysis of public contracts, concessions in the water and energy sectors, Real Right Law, Commercial Law and Civil Procedure Law, Media Law, Ecology Law and environment, construction and land- use planning, legislative drafting. Yanita Toncheva is a member of the Managing Board of the Bulgarian IDLO Alumni Association, founder of the Club of Women Entrepreneurs and Managers in Bulgaria, member of the Managing Board of the non-profit Bulgarian Training Centre Association, and also of the Bulgarian Water Supply and Sewerage Association, the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, the Ladies' Business Forum. Since 1999, Yanita Toncheva is the owner of Modus Consult EOOD, and since 2006 – member of the Supervisory Board of the National Tourism Board Association.
